Arab Trade

Trade is one of the main livelihoods in pre-Islamic and early Islamic Arabia. Sedentary Arabs such as the Quraysh tribe of the holy city of Meccah are known as merchants. They would hold annual fairs wherein many different tribes would meet up and sell their wares for several days, during this time peace is upheld and fighting is forbidden even among enemy tribes.
