Sedentary Arab

The Arab population was divided into two, the Bedouins who lived in the desert as nomads, and the town-dwelling Sedentary Arabs. The Sedentary Arabs were a minority and they established trading towns and cities, based around a source of water or oasis. They either worked as merchants traveling North to Syria in the summer and South to Yemen in the winter. Some take up agriculture, growing date palm trees such as in the City of Medinah.
