Al Mansur

The Abbasid revolution succeeded and they were able to place Al-Mansur on the caliphal throne he welcomed non-Arab Muslims to his court. Many of the Abbasid supporters were non-Arabs who felt alienated by Umayyad rulers' exclusive policies, which deemed non-Arab Muslims as second-class citizens. The Abbasids relied heavily on Persian families including the Barmakids for their bureaucracy. Religion and Philosophy were debated. He founded the legendary round city of Baghdad.
